SPECIFICATIONS
LOCATIONS: A turntable can be installed anywhere outside or indoors where vehicle rotating room permits. The unit is equally useful in a garage, a basement or in the driveway immediately before the garage. It is essential, however, that the unit is installed level.
BASE: A reinforced concrete base of 150 mm thickness is installed first, and there is an 80mm thick concrete wall to the pit if surrounded by pavers in lieu of concrete. Note that we have kept the overall depth profile to only 250mm (10”) from concrete base to surface plate, so there is very little excavation needed. The drive system is internal, so a separate motor pit is not needed.
DIAMETER: Overall diameter of the top plate is 4.0 metres for a single car unit and 6.0 metres for a two car unit. This is easily able to cater for the wheel base of all regular private vehicles. Once again, vehicle body swing room must be allowed for.
STRUCTURE: All structure and supports are RHS (box-section) steel, fabricated and welded to a high standard prior to installation. The parts are brought to the job in kit form and assembled on site. Each steel component is hot-dip galvanised for maximum corrosion protection.
LOADING: The rating of the 4 metre turntable is 3.0 tonnes distributed load, and the 6 metre unit at 6.0 tonnes, which easily caters for passenger cars or four-wheel drives.
SURFACE PLATE: The top decking material is 6mm checker plate aluminium, assembled in 10 identical segments. The result is a very stylish and flush appearance which complements even superior homes, and will continue to look good with very little maintenance. The top can be coloured to suit your area.
The end result when installed is a surface that is flush with the level of your driveway, and a very minimal (10mm) gap between the moving disc and surrounding edge.
SUPPORT: There is a fully sealed 3 tonne centre pivot assembly, plus either 14 or 24 x 400kg full-bearing machined steel wheels near the extremity. The result is a quiet and smooth rotation with zero deviation in height or alignment, now or at any time in the future.
DRIVE SYSTEM: Incorporates an electric motor transferring through a smooth worm-drive gearbox and self-adjusting friction drive. A further safety feature is built-in slippage, or disengagement, should the vehicle make contact with a solid object.
DRIVE SPEED: The turntable rotates at approximately 1 rpm. This is of course 30 seconds to turn your car to face the opposite way, but you can stop it at any angle that you choose.
REMOTE CONTROL: The unit comes with a remote control and receiver system. The miniature hand units can activate the turntable in either direction on demand, and stop on demand. Users can request as many miniature transmitters as required.
